Kabul, 5 December (IANS). At least 25 Taliban militants, including two commanders, were killed and eight others injured during a raid in Helmand province, Afghanistan. The army gave this information on Saturday.
According to the news agency Xinhua, the Army Corps 215 Mevand said in a statement, the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) on Friday launched an operation at Nawah-e-Barkazai in Helmand, which is the cause of the casualties.
The operation was carried out with a view to curbing the activities of terrorists in the area as the terrorists tried to attack the ANDSF targets.
The ANDSF destroyed six militant bases and 25 defense outposts during the raid southwest of Kabul and neutralized four improvised bombs.
Taliban militant groups are yet to comment on the raid.
