London, 29 November (IANS). More than 150 people protesting against the ongoing Kovid-19 lockdown in London have been arrested.

According to the BBC report, the protest began on Saturday at Marble Arch. It was organized by the Save Our Rights UK group. Most of the protesters did not put on masks and they also ignored the police urges to leave. Earlier in the day, the police had also warned against not performing such public ceremonies.

Traffic was stopped here at Oxford Circus, Kanerby Street and Regent Street when police officers were trying to handcuff people due to the protests.

The Met Police said in a statement, “It has been a challenging day for the Met Police of London City and the British Transport Police officers.” We would like to thank them for doing their professional work well throughout the day. Today’s action is a direct result of those who willfully break the law and often aggressively confront our officials and cause road network disruptions.

Home Secretary Preeti Patel said that we saw our police officers doing incredible work to stop the corona virus. He further said – We are asking all people to perform their duties because we have implemented these measures to save people’s lives.

Explain that despite 479 deaths in the UK on Saturday, there is opposition to measures to stop the epidemic. So far 58,030 deaths and 16,09,141 cases have been registered here.
