Portuguese media cmjornal reported that Porto chairman Boas provided Jota's widow with a special position in Porto.
At a memorial ceremony held on Tuesday, September 2 for Joje Costa, Diogo Jota and Andre Silva, Porto President Boas announced that Diogo Jota's widow Lute Cardoso will hold a position at the club to continue a project the player conceived during his lifetime, with Luna, an e-sports team founded by Jota.
Porto Chairman Boas: "In Porto, he (Jota) has established a career that is very special for him: esports. We are proud to continue our memory through Luna. Now, Rut will be part of the team and will always honor Diogo Jota."
Jota is also an esports enthusiast in addition to having a brilliant career on the court. He regularly competes in FIFA esports competitions and creates an iconic goal celebration action related to the hobby: sit down like sitting there playing a game console. Since his death, colleagues around the world have replicated the celebration in a tribute to him.
In the 2016-2017 season, Jota played for Porto, the Portuguese Super League team.
