According to the Guardian, if Graham Porter is fired, West Ham United considers asking for former coach Bilic to return. Although news that Porter's future does not entirely depend on the outcome of Saturday's game against Crystal Palace, the overall situation is not optimistic for him.

West Ham is currently ranked 18th in the Premier League, and they have lost four of their first five games in all competitions, and the board is increasingly concerned about this. Major shareholder David Sullivan is not ready to make changes yet, but has begun to develop contingency plans. Bilic coached West Ham United from 2015 to 2017, and if Porter leaves, he has a chance to return. Former Nottingham Forest coach Nuno Santo is also being considered. Meanwhile, former Everton coach Sean Dyche is also associated with the position.

It is not clear whether Nuno is willing to take over the new job immediately after being fired by Nottingham Forest. The former Wolves head coach left the city court last week after a breakdown in relationship with his boss Marinakis. Last season, Nuno led Nottingham Forest to obtain European qualification. When considering how long to give Porter, the question for West Ham is whether there are enough suitable coaches in the market. Sullivan has always been inclined to hire unemployed coaches, and one solution might be to get Bilic to take over temporarily.

Bilich's relationship with West Ham can be traced back to the players' era. His first season as head coach was the club's last season at Upton Park, when he led the team to the league's seventh place and advanced to the Europa League play-offs. However, things have become even more difficult since West Ham United moved to the London Bowl. They struggled in their new home game, and Bilic's second season turned into a relegation battle. He was fired after the start of his third season and Moyes took over his position. Bilic has no resentment for being fired and is willing to return to West Ham United.

Bilich's recent work was in Saudi Arabia. In the 2022-23 season, he almost joined the "Harves" as the interim coach. However, Moyes retained his position and won the European Cup. Bilic once led Croatia to the quarterfinals of the 2008 European Cup and led West Brom to upgrade to the Premier League in 2020.

West Ham has been underperforming since breaking up with Moyes last year and taking over by Lopetegui. Porter took over Lopetegui in January but lost 13 of 24 games. West Ham is worried they will face relegation risks and will face protests from fans.
