Fujitsu Japan is currently developing the 2-nanometer (nm) CPU "MONAKA", and the super computer "Fugao" under development will be equipped with second-generation CPU products with further improved performance. These CPUs are planned to be produced by Taiwan's Taiwan OEM. Fujitsu said that the crystal-block foundry factory Rapidus, established by Japanese officials and civilians, is very useful for ensuring the stability of supply chains.
News reported on the 23rd that regarding Rapidus, which has a target volume of 2 nanometer chips, Fujitsu Chairman Tatsuhito said at a regular shareholder meeting held in the 23rd, "It can increase the supply of advanced chips and is very useful for ensuring the stability of the company's supply chain." Fujitsu plans to invest in Rapidus.
The report pointed out that Fujitsu is developing a 2-nanometer CPU "MONAKA" with an ARM architecture, which is expected to be launched in 2027 and is expected to be applied to AI, data centers and other uses. Fujitsu is developing a post-resume machine for the super computer "Fugashi" and plans to install a second-generation CPU product that further improves performance compared to the currently developed "MONAKA".
According to reports, Fujitsu plans to commission these CPUs to Taitung OEM for production, and the above-mentioned illustration of Shintian should be used to indicate that if Rapidus OEM can be commissioned, it will help to stabilize the supply chain.
