Intel Corp.'s financial manager David Zinsner revealed that the upcoming new process will currently "not significant" in terms of the number of processors produced for external customers.

According to Reuters, Zinsner made the above statement at the Boston Global Technology, Media and Communication Conference on J.P. Morgan on the 13th. Intel is striving for the crystal foundry industry, but the 18A and the latest 14A processes have limited progress.

Intel announced in April that several customers will try to produce chips with new processes. However, Zinsner admitted, "After we tried to produce the chip, some customers withdrew from …… so the actual commitment is not large."

In March, there was a rumor that AI chip giant NVIDIA (Nvidia Corp.) and AI custom chip manufacturer Broadcom are testing the Intel 18A process.

Zinsner added on the 13th that Intel's crystal foundry will achieve a profit of two square meters at a certain time point in 2027, but this requires USD 1 billion for external customers to reach the bid.
